Public library hosts outdoor storytimes

Enjoy a good book and the nice weather with the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Huntsville-Madison County Public Library has started hosting outdoor storytimes for the spring and summer seasons.

They started the event last year due to the pandemic and want to keep the tradition going.

These storytimes give both children and parents a way to get out of the house, be entertained and enjoy the weather all in a COVID safe manner.

"Because spring has sprung we are now starting to take some of our programming outside because we have not been doing inside programs since the pandemic. We're taking advantage of the really nice weather and the really great parks we have in the area. Outdoor storytime was something that we had started last year and it had been so successful that we just want to continue doing the tradition," said Melanie Thorton, director of public relations at the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library.
