MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — A person suspected in a shooting Saturday morning in Morgan County has surrendered after a standoff with deputies.
Negotiators were at a location in the Massey community after a person was shot and injured and a suspect was holed up inside a residence.
The Morgan County Sheriff's Office issued a public advisory about 10:15 a.m. to avoid the area of Hardin Road near Maday Drive as law enforcement teams worked to resolve the situation. A perimeter was established and S.W.A.T. was called to assist.
Negotiators were in contact with the person inside the home.
They believe the individual was involved in a shooting that left one person injured. That person's condition was not immediately available.
Around 11 a.m., the situation was resolved and officials said the suspect was taken into custody.
