FLORENCE, Ala. — Lauderdale County Schools is temporarily transitioning to remote learning starting Wednesday, November 18.
The district also said all extra-curricular activities have been canceled until November 30, which is also when in-person learning will resume.
The announcement was made via Facebook post:
"Afternoon update: Beginning immediately, all extra-curricular activities for all Lauderdale County schools are canceled until November 30.
Good morning Lauderdale families. Please read carefully and check back as we will update you as plans continue to change.
Because of the continued rise in positive and quarantine cases of COVID-19 throughout the district, Superintendent Jon Hatton announced this morning that all Lauderdale County Schools will be transitioning to remote learning for the rest of this week, beginning tomorrow, Nov. 18, 19, and 20. In-person learning at schools will resume after Thanksgiving Week on November 30.
As plans continue to change and develop, we will update this information and on the district website."
