HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — This holiday season, why not give the gift of a furry friend? Huntsville Animal Services is making it easier to bring home your very own “Santa’s little helper” by waiving adoption fees for most adult dogs through December 24.
Whether you're looking for a lifelong companion or just want to open your home temporarily, Animal Services is ready to help you find the perfect pet this season.
“Adopting or fostering a pet during the holidays is a meaningful way to bring joy into your home,” said John Fischer, Director of Huntsville Animal Services. “The holiday season is all about family, and there’s no better time to make a pet part of yours. Fostering, even for a short time, can also make a huge difference in the lives of these animals.”
Adoption fees are being waived for most adult dogs, and the adoption includes up-to-date vaccinations, a microchip for identification, spay or neuter surgery, a City license, and even a free bag of dry pet food (while supplies last).
If you're interested in meeting your new best friend, don’t miss the Pop-Up Adoption Event on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Starbucks at Village of Providence, 20 Town Center Drive NW.
For those who can't make it to the event, the Animal Services shelter is open for adoptions throughout the week: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday until 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
They will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. A full list of adoptable pets is available online.
