Leaders discuss importance of knowing ballot amendments

'Vote Gone Viral' makes a stop at Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Leaders with the 'Vote Gone Viral' campaign made a stop at one Huntsville church Sunday. The campaign is composed of several organizations that are helping people register to vote and vote absentee.

The organizations include the United Women of Color Huntsville, Vote Huntsville, and the Indivisible - 5th District North Huntsville. Today they stopped at Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church. Volunteers say they helped sign off as witnesses for absentee ballots.

Leaders believe it's also important that voters are informed about the amendments on the ballot in addition to knowing about the candidates.

"In my opinion it's very important. And so we have some individuals who have taken the time to put those amendments in layman's terms, and we will be posting out posts and infographics on social media to demystify that process," says 'Vote Gone Viral' organizer Angela Curry.

The next 'Vote Gone Viral' event will be at the Milton Frank Stadium this Friday from 5-7 p.m.
