LifeSouth hosting popup Good Friday blood drive

“There is no doubt we have struggled with blood donation recently,” District Community Development Coordinator Kami May said.

MADISON, Ala. — LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is set to host a popup community blood drive this Good Friday in Madison, Alabama.

The drive will serve as the grand opening for the organization's second location in Madison, located at 12060 County Line Road Suite F. The drive will take place on April 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“There is no doubt we have struggled with blood donation recently,” District Community Development Coordinator Kami May said.

Due to recent severe weather and the COVID-19 pandemic, LifeSouth said they have been placed in an emergency appeal and that they have less than a two-day blood supply on their shelves for use by area hospitals.

LifeSouth says they will follow all CDC, state and city regulations regarding COVID-19.

Every donor will receive a free health physical and cholesterol screening. For more information or to schedule an appointment, you can contact LifeSouth's toll-free line at 1-888-795-2707.
