HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A man who pleaded guilty to a manslaughter count stemming from the 2016 death of an infant is back in jail, now charged with child abuse.
Zackary Harbin, 26, is on probation after serving five years of a 20-year sentence on that earlier conviction.
Harbin was 18 years old when he and Madison Eagan, who was 19, were charged with capital murder in the death of a 19-day-old baby.
The child was brought to Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Huntsville with suspicious bruising and injuries to the head. The infant later died.
Harbin pleaded guilty to the reduced count of manslaughter in 2019. He received credit for time he spent in jail while awaiting trial.
Records show he was booked Tuesday night into the Madison County Jail on a new charge of aggravated child abuse, along with a count related to violation of probation.
No bond was set and a court date is pending.
