LAWRENCE COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — UPDATE: The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office has announced that two mountain bikers reported missing on Easter Sunday in Bankhead National Forest have been found unharmed.

Additional searchers have joined the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office in the search or two mountain bikers reported missing in Bankhead National Forest.
The sheriff's office says they are working with ALEA Aviation and the U.S. Forest service as well as the Multi-agency Search and Rescue Team.
According to the sheriff's office, on Sunday, April 12th 2020 at 5:05 pm, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of two people who did not return as planned from mountain biking trip in Bankhead National Forest.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted search operations until 2:30 a.m. The weather, darkness, downed trees, and adverse road conditions made search operations more difficult. It resumed Monday morning with air support.
