Alabama QB Jalen Milroe wins Pop Warner College Football award

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has been named the recipient of the Pop Warner Little Scholars College Football Award, announced Thursday by Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc.

Milroe, a standout both on and off the field, was one of three finalists for the prestigious honor, which recognizes a student-athlete who excels in athletics, academics, and community involvement. The award will be presented during the 67th Pop Warner Super Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., from Dec. 7-14.

The award marks a historic achievement for Alabama football, as Milroe is the first Crimson Tide player to win the award in its 15-year history.

A two-time team captain, Milroe has played a vital role in leading Alabama to multiple College Football Playoff appearances and two SEC Championships. 

Over his career, Milroe has totaled 77 touchdowns with 5,824 passing yards and 33 rushing touchdowns. He has also rushed for 1,570 yards, showcasing his dual-threat abilities.

Off the field, Milroe has earned high academic honors, graduating cum laude in December 2023 with a 3.52 GPA. He will finish his master’s degree in sport management this month. 

Milroe has been named to the President’s List and Dean’s List numerous times at Alabama and has been a three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member. He was also selected to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
