HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — (Huntsville Sports Commission) - Wednesday marked the start of the 2020 USA National Beach Tour Junior Championship in Huntsville, Ala. The Championship will be held July 21-26 at the Sand Volleyball Complex in John Hunt Park. Rally Volleyball is hosting the event with support by the Huntsville Sports Commission (HSC) and Huntsville Parks & Recreation.
“USAV is excited to be holding the nation’s premiere junior national championship this year for the first time in Alabama,” USA Volleyball President and CEO Jamie Davis said.
USA Volleyball (USAV) relocated the event originally held in Huntington Beach, California due to COVID-19. USA Volleyball has implemented extensive and strict safety protocols to protect the players, officials, coaches and fans.
The HSC is excited to assist in hosting an unforgettable event for USA Volleyball. Our team along with Rally Volleyball and Huntsville Parks & Recreation has worked tirelessly preparing to run the championship safely amongst the COVID-19 pandemic,” stated Ralph Stone, Executive Director for HSC. “Everyone’s safety is our top priority.”
The championship has a total of 333 teams registered from 24 different states in the U.S. with an estimated 2,000 hotel room nights and approximate economic impact of $750,000 to the city of Huntsville.
