HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The University of Alabama in Huntsville baseball team was again named one of eight teams under consideration for the 2021 NCAA Division II South Regional in the second unveiling by the NCAA championship committee.
Due to limited data thus far, teams have not been ranked in the first two announcements.
The Chargers are amongst five teams from the Gulf South Conference under consideration for the South Regional, which also includes Delta State, Lee, Shorter and West Florida.
Florida Southern, Florida Tech and Tampa round out the eight teams in the release, representing the Sunshine State Conference.
UAH is coming off a five-game run at the 2021 GSC Baseball Championships with two wins over Shorter and one victory over Delta State, before DSU took the tournament semifinals matchup on Tuesday. The Chargers are 22-18 overall with a 21-17 record against South Region opponents.
The NCAA South Regional will consist of six teams in the 2021 season and will be held on the campus of West Florida from May 27-30.
