Golf tournament benefiting veterans will tee off Sept. 29

The 17th Annual Golf Tournament 'Fore' Still Serving Veterans will help get veterans the resources they need.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Still Serving Veterans (SSV), a nonprofit dedicated to helping veterans, will be hosting its 17th Annual Golf Tournament 'Fore' Veterans on September 29th.

The opening ceremony will begin at 12:30pm and will be followed by a Shotgun Start.

Iron Mountain Solutions and Five Stones Research Corporation will be the  presenting sponsors for an afternoon of golf at the beautiful Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Hampton Cove. The tournament will bring together corporations and over 200 individuals to have a little fun while making a big impact.

All proceeds from the Golf Tournament 'Fore' Veterans will directly support Still Serving Veterans’ mission to help Veterans locate meaningful employment anywhere in the nation. It also helps veterans to locate and access the local VA benefits they’ve earned and connect with the community resources they need to build a better future.

All services are provided to veterans by veterans at no cost to the veterans, their families, or employers.

Participants will enjoy lunch, an afternoon of golf, and awards and appetizers after the tournament.

SSV says they are thrilled that the level of excitement and support for this event continues to grow every year. The group also said they owe the success for each of their Annual Golf Tournaments 'Fore' Veterans to their many participants, supporters, and volunteers.

Kristen Strickland, a SSV board member and devoted volunteer, says that working with the tournament is something that helps her get involved with the community.

"I've been a volunteer at this tournament for over 6 years and love seeing the overwhelming support from our community. It's a fun day on a beautiful course" said Strickland, "but the best part of an event like this is knowing that we're making life a little easier for veterans and their families."
