Veterans Day events around North Alabama

North Alabama is preparing to honor veterans with a range of events.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — As Veterans Day approaches, communities across North Alabama are preparing to honor the brave people who have served in the military with a variety of events and celebrations. 

Veterans Dinner - Veterans and community members are invited to the Veterans Day Dinner at the Von Braun Civic Center on November 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will honor the newest inductees of the Madison County Hall of Heroes and the 2024 Huntsville Veteran of the Year, featuring a social hour, fine dining, and live music.

Veterans Day Parade (Tuscumbia) - Takes place in on November 11 at 10 a.m. The parade begins at Deshler High School and proceeds along Main Street to the Colbert County Courthouse. 

Veterans Day Open House - The U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum invites veterans to a special celebration honoring their service and sacrifice. Attendees can enjoy refreshments, tour the museum, and share their stories, with free admission for all.

Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony (Morgan County) - The City of Priceville will host the Morgan County Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Monday, November 11. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at the Morgan County Veterans Memorial for the ceremony at 11 a.m.

Calhoun Community College to Honor Veterans with Special Veterans Day Program - On November 7 at 10 a.m. in the Grand Foyer of the Sparkman Building on the Huntsville campus. The event will honor veterans, featuring speeches from U.S. Air Force veteran Sabrina Godlewski and retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major Angel C. Clark.

Veterans Day Basketball Camp - Boys and girls ages 8-13 are invited to join the Holiday Break Camps at Faith Chapel Family Life Center. 

Huntsville Veteran's Day Parade - In downtown Huntsville, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 11. 

Veterans Breakfast - At the Von Braun Civic Center in the Saturn Ballroom as part of the Veterans Week celebrations, providing an opportunity to meet honored guests from WWII and the Korean War. Doors open at 8:15 a.m., with a social hour from 8:30 to 9 a.m., followed by breakfast and a program from 9 to 10 a.m. on November 11.

United States Army Field Band - Will present "This We Will Defend," a video-integrated, patriotic concert experience honoring Veterans Day. The performance by the Jazz Ambassadors will take place at the Von Braun Civic Center in the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall on November 10 from 2 to 3:15 p.m.

2024 Bearded Warriors Charity Golf Tournament - On November 11, the event starts at noon at Huntsville Country Club, located at 2601 Oakwood Avenue Northwest.

Veterans Day Camp (Athens) - D-BAT Athens will host a youth baseball camp on November 11, with sessions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The camp is open to players ages 7-14.
