LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Depending on the outcome of their upcoming rivalry game with the Dallas Cowboys on November 10, Philadelphia Eagles fans might get the chance to contribute to a one-of-a-kind whiskey batch.
Fireball Whiskey announced it is making a first-of-its kind whiskey made with real human tears.
The limited-edition release, called Crierball, will blend "emotion with flavor for an unforgettable drinking experience," the whiskey brand said in a press release.
Fireball said it will send official Tear Collectors to several upcoming rivalry games next month, with the goal of collecting tears from fans of the losing team.
One of the games Tear Collectors will be on hand for is the Eagles' visit to the Cowboys in Arlington next month, Fireball said.
“In football, few things -- aside from Fireball, of course -- are better than the sweet taste of victory, especially when that 'W' comes at the expense of your biggest rivals,” said Danny Suich, Global Brand Director for Fireball. “Our brand is all about embracing that competitive spirit, but amping it up with a little more spice.
"We’re on a mission to capture the soul of rivalries -- aka the tears of losers -- at this season’s biggest games. The expected result? A one-of-a-kind whisky bottling that is sure to become the ultimate showpiece allowing for supreme bragging rights next season.”
The rivalry games Fireball will visit include:
- November 2: Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, GA
- November 10: Philadelphia Eagles vs. Dallas Cowboys in Dallas, TX
- November 17: Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears in Chicago, IL
- November 17: Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh, PA
- November 30: Auburn Tigers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, AL
- November 30: Michigan Wolverines vs. Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, OH
Fireball said it has trained official Fireball Tear Collectors, who will be fully outfitted in red hot gear that has large “Fireball Tear Collector” featured so fans know who to supply their tears to in a safe and sanitary manner.
"The Fireball Tear Collectors will never touch fans or handle the tears directly; they’ll only collect fluid right from the source (fans eyes)," the whiskey brand said. "Using sealed jars and tear droppers, they can gather everything from a steady stream of sobs to a single tear."
The sealed jars and droppers will be sanitized and limited to one-time use to ensure maximum hygiene, Fireball said.
To help stimulate shy criers, Tear Collectors will have menthol sticks to help get fans' eyes watering, according to the company.
"From there the sealed jars will be placed in storage and transported to the distillery facility for storing and distillation," Fireball said. "The liquid will undergo a meticulous, months-long process of sterilization and distillation before ultimately becoming Crierball."
Fireball hopes to have its unique whiskey on shelves in time for the 2025 football season.
