UNION SPRINGS, Ala. – The Alabama Department of Corrections is investigating the death of an inmate at Bullock County Correctional Facility on Oct. 6.
Marcus Green, 34 of Birmingham, was pronounced dead at 11:40 p.m. after a correctional officer found Green lying in his bed during a routine check. Green was unresponsive and immediately taken to the health care unit where live-saving measures were administered to no avail.
The cause of death is pending autopsy results. The investigation is ongoing; updates will be made as they become available.
Green was serving a 20-year sentence out of Jefferson County for 1st degree rape.
