Alabama A&M University saw an increase in enrollment this year.

The school now has 6,108 students for the current semester, an increase of nearly 1.7% over last fall semester and a 25.8% increase since fall 2012.

This is the largest enrollment since 2005 and marks six years of continuous enrollment gains.

“I am so pleased that Alabama A&M University is the institution of choice for individuals desiring a
quality and affordable education,” commented University President Andrew Hugine, Jr. “The trajectory
of our enrollment is due to the dedication of our enrollment management teams in the offices of
Admissions, Graduate Studies, and other support areas, a significant increase in student success
initiatives, and a campus-wide commitment to access and opportunity.”

The first-time freshman headcount for fall 2018 is the second highest in the history of the University at
1,521. The average GPA is 3.01, the highest in five years.
