The family of Dana Fletcher – the man shot and killed by Madison police last month – are demanding answers and transparency from law enforcement.
On Monday, Nov. 11, Dana Fletcher’s family, their attorney Benjamin Crump, and concerned citizens rallied together to demand the body-cam footage be released. Police say Dana Fletcher pointed a gun at officers, but his wife – who was there at the time – says he never had a gun.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says the footage belongs to the city of Madison and it’s up to them to release it. People who came out today say they’ve lost trust in law enforcement and want to see what happened for themselves.
“If you want to try to justify this, then show us, because she knows the truth. They were right there. They saw her husband get murdered. They saw the father of her child get murdered,” said Attorney Benjamin Crump.
They’re also asking for audio recording of the 911 call that led to the officer-involved shooting.
