The Huntsville City Council voted to spend some tax money to make improvements around the city.
One project they approved was to pay $1 million dollars to an architectural firm to renovate Joe Davis Stadium in John Hunt Park. The stadium will be converted into a multi-sport facility.
Construction is expected to start in 2021.

Another project is to develop an 8,500 seat amphitheater near the MidCity development. The city council approved the management contract Thursday night. The venue will be similar to Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver and will host all kinds of events.
