HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — "You know, it's funny, I'm really not a big smack talker like, I'm one of those guys on the field, very quiet. Competition will say whatever they want to me but I let my skill set do the talking," said Myles Kelley, Turkey Bowl player.
"Losing is not an option. So, we hold our team to high standards," said Chelsea Hurst, Turkey Bowl player.
While there may not have been a bunch of smack talk going on at the Walter Jones Turkey Bowl but there was a whole lot of compassion on display.
"It's great to see that all the proceeds are gonna go to feeding families who may not have a certain meal or you know, turkeys for the holiday and I want everybody to have a blessing on the holiday. So, it's good to have a plate in front of you at Thanksgiving," said Kelley.
"It's the best feeling in the world helping another person or another family and so, just coming out here and getting to have fun and also for a great cause, you can't beat it," said Hurst.
From the man himself, Walter Jones, food is the heart of this holiday and to feed people is to love on them.
And for the former NFL player, to be able to combine football and giving back to his community means the world.
"You never want to think that there's somebody out there that might not be having a Thanksgiving dinner. So, if you can give back and you feel good, you know, when you do sit down with your family, you feel like okay, I gave back cause that's all you wanna do, is give back. So, everybody out here, this is what they doing, giving back," said B2EDi Founder, Walter Jones.
Proceeds from this game go toward local non-profit, House of the Harvest.
