HUNTSVILLE, Ala. —
Alabama has state coronavirus testing sites. But, you can’t just show up and grab a test kit.
The state does have test kits that are sent to local satellite offices. But, to get tested by the state, you have to call your primary doctor first.
Your doctor should then contact the health department, who will work with your provider to get you tested.
Some commercial labs, like LabCorps, have also launched test kits, so you can also explore those options.
Health officials urge you not to show up to hospitals, or clinics, if you think you might have coronavirus, in order to prevent the spread of disease.
