On January 4, 2019, members of the Decatur Police Department were dispatched to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church located at 550 Bird Springs Road, in reference to a burglary.

Upon officer’s arrival, they spoke to the complainant.

The complainant reported, when he arrived at the church, he discovered that someone had entered the church and had taken several items.

The complainant also reported that the burglary was captured on the church’s video surveillance that showed the suspect.

During the course of the investigation, Daniel Splitlog was positively identified as being the suspect in the video.

On January 8, 2019, Splitlog was located by Officer Michael Kent and transported to the Decatur Police Department.

Splitlog was subsequently charged with burglary in the third degree.

Splitlog was transported to the Morgan County Jail, where he was booked in for his charge. Splitlog was held with no bond.

“The defendant in the above case is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

On January 5, 2019, at approximately 1:05 a.m., Morgan County 911 received the call of a shooting at the Lionz Den in Pine Park located at 1612 5th Street NW. 

Multiple units from the Decatur Police Department responded to the scene and located the victim who was suffering from a single gunshot wound. 

Detectives were contacted and began an investigation into the shooting.

The victim was transported to Huntsville Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and is currently in stable condition. 

During the course of the investigation, Precious Onecha Garth was developed as a suspect in the case. 

An arrest warrant was issued on Garth for assault in the first degree and on January 7, 2019.

Garth turned herself in to the Decatur Police Department. 

Garth was booked into the Morgan County Jail in lieu of no bond.  

Assault in the first degree is a Class B felony.

“The above defendant should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

On Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Morgan County 911 received the call of a robbery on 4th Avenue SW. 

During the incident, a male took the victim’s wallet and keys. The victim did not sustain injuries from the encounter. 

A short time after the robbery, this subject used the victim’s credit card at a store. 
    
The Decatur Police Department is seeking information in attempt to identify this subject. Attached are photographs of the individual.
