Man arrested for stabbing in Boaz, victim airlifted to hospital

According to the Boaz Police Department, they found a victim with serious cuts in a home on Wednesday.

BOAZ, Ala. — A man was arrested Wednesday in Boaz after a stabbing that injured one person and forced nearby schools to go on lockdown.

According to the Boaz Police Department, officers responded to a call on Verbon Street around 9:55 a.m. They found a victim with serious cuts in a home. The victim identified the person to police. While police searched for the suspect, the injured person was airlifted to a hospital.

About two hours later, officers found 23-year-old Donny Nennis hiding behind a home on Williams Street. Nennis was arrested and taken to Boaz City Jail.

Assisting in the incident were the Marshall County Drug Task Force, Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas Police Department, Sardis Police Department, Snead State Community College Police Department, and Albertville Police Department."
