HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — One of the men charged in connection with a deadly shooting in Huntsville last month has been denied bond, court documents show.

Jordan Lakes, 20, was denied bond following a hearing on Nov. 8. He is one the people facing reckless murder charges in the deaths of Damien Manning, 22, and Davante Dixon, 24. Dixon, who was shot in mid-October, died from his injuries on Nov. 18, two weeks after the shooting. Manning was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting happened on Oct. 12 near a gas station at 3310 Meridian Street, where Lakes is accused of firing at least 12 rounds into a crowded parking lot of around 100 people.

Court documents also show that Lakes reportedly fled the scene after the shooting, and authorities allege that his actions showed "extreme indifference to human life."

Lakes was arrested on Nov. 7, nearly a month after the shooting, and is currently in custody at the Madison County Jail.
