People in Huntsville now have a new place to go for a run.
A ribbon cutting was held today for the new cross country course in John Hunt Park. The new running course is 10-meters wide and has multiple loops for different distance options from 5K to 10K.
There’s also a new walking trail made out of old tires for people who just want to go for a stroll.
Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle said, “Sixty-six thousand tires that would’ve been in the dump are now being used to walk on.”
The first tournament on this course will be the Southern Showcase 5K tomorrow.
