MADISON COUNTY, ALABAMA, Ala. — Madison County Schools are reopening for in-person classes before the end of the first nine weeks.
The district says that current COVID-19 date indicates that their schools can safely begin this transition.
Madison County School System is moving to Level 1 of its reopening plan and will resume face-to-face instruction based on the following schedule:
September 14th-18th Transition Week, PreK- Grade 12
Group 1 - Students with the Last Name A-K
● Attend on-campus instruction on Monday and Tuesday, September 14th and 15th
● This group participates in remote instruction Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, September16th, 17th, and 18th
Group 2 - Students with the Last Name L-Z
● Attend on-campus instruction on Thursday and Friday, September 17th and 18th
● This group participates in remote instruction Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, September14th, 15th, and 16th
Protocols for wearing face masks for in-class instruction & other activities will be provided next week. This info will be emailed & posted on the MCSS website & social media. Schools will also provide info about other important aspects of students returning to their campuses.
Remote Instruction is still an option for families, and they have until September 14th to contact their school and request this. Students who signed up for Remote Instruction before Friday, July 17th, will remain in Remote Instruction through the end of the first nine-weeks (October 23)
On September 21, all grades PreK-12 resume normal school hours Monday-Friday, with all students attending school on all days. Remote instruction will continue as normal for those students that selected remote instruction.
