It doesn’t matter if you’re an expert knitter or crocheter, or have never picked up yarn before.
Everyone is welcome at the Flying Monkey Arts Hearts to Hands Stitch & Snack nights.
Hearts to Hands Huntsville is a community effort to collect cold weather necessities for our underserved neighbors. Items needed including tents, tarps, coats, sweatshirts, sleeping bags, toilet paper, hats, gloves, and new socks and underwear.
Stitch & Snack nights, held every other Friday through January, are your chance to make something to donate while sharing snacks and stories with others in the community.
Amanda Banks, one of the organizers, says, “We wanted to have a fun, free event for everyone to come out, meet new people, and have a good time while making little projects to help keep our less fortunate neighbors warm this winter. We’ve got plenty of snacks and stitching supplies on hand. We even have people who are able to teach knitting and crochet for anyone who wants to learn in a friendly, no pressure environment.
Can’t make it to make something? Donation boxes are available throughout Flying Monkey Arts during open hours, Wednesday-Saturday.
