Former Guntersville soccer coach David Barrow is hoping to get a new trial. He appeared in court on Tuesday asking Judge Tim Riley to throw out his conviction on multiple charges of Aggravated Surveillance and Production of Obscene Matter.
Barrow entered a guilty plea in April of 2016 to those offenses and was sentenced to thirty years in prison.
His attorneys are arguing that the guilty plea was coerced and that evidence gathered was obtained unconstitutionally.
Prosecutors, however, argue that Barrow’s claims that his conviction was obtained by the use of coercion could have been raised on direct appeal. Instead, they say he plead guilty without reserving any issues for appeal.

Judge Riley will rule on the matter within the next two weeks.
