HEMSI adds more units amid Coronavirus outbreak

Crews will continue normal operations, but they've added more units

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — With the Coronavirus now present here in the Tennessee Valley, our first responders with HEMSI have stepped up their response to the community.

Crews will continue normal operations, but they've added more units. HEMSI is closely monitoring the call volume and screening patients.

Don Webster, HEMSI Community Relations Coordinator, says they're well-equipped to serve us, even at a time like this.

"We're kind of adjusting it to what our call volume is. Let me assure that the citizens of our community we are prepared to deal with whatever, to the best we can," says Webster.

Crews are also wearing personal protective equipment to increase safety for both first responders and patients.
