HUNTSVILLE, Ala — The Huntsville-Madison County Chamber of Commerce is stepping up in a major way to help our health workers.
The Chamber is now a drop-off site for medical supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Supplies like masks, gowns, and gloves are accepted and will be given to the Madison County Medical Society.
"We think about our nurses and our doctors in the hospital, but we also have medical staff that see patients as they come in to be checked like 'I think I have something wrong with me, I'm going to go see my doctor and be tested," says Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce VP of Marketing & Communications, Claire Aiello.
The Chamber says this is an opportunity to help all our health workers.
"That's the kind of people we're talking about too, so that's what these supplies go to, to kind of help these folks who are on the front-lines of that initial doctor's visit," she added.
The Chamber will accept donations Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The offices will be closed to the public, but the Chamber has a sign on the door for people to call, the number is 256-535-2000.
