DECATUR, Ala. — Morgan County leaders say they're still in the 'high risk' category. From this past Friday to Monday, more than 230 cases were reported.

Decatur-Morgan hospital officials say they are down to twenty-seven inpatients with the virus compared to thirty-nine more than a week ago.

However, there's been an increase of eight infected patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and now five are on ventilators. Last week there were six infected patients in the ICU, and four on ventilators. Leaders say risk factors include patients with high blood pressure and heart conditions.

"Just keep in mind that there are a lot of health conditions that we need to be concerned about. Continue to wear our masks, social distance, and wash our hands - and as the mayor said come up with a safe plan ahead of time to take this seriously."

COVID testing in Morgan County is rescheduled for this week. Leaders are still confirming an official date.
