Morgan County: Two more COVID-19 related deaths reported

County and city officials are urging residents to wear masks and social distance.

DECATUR, Ala. — On Tuesday morning, Alabama health officials report two more deaths in Morgan County. The number of positive cases climbed to more than 770.

That's more than a 14 percent increase compared to last week. Leaders say that people have grown comfortable with not wearing masks and not social distancing in public places like ball fields and churches.

"There's just going to be a lot of things that are going to be different. Are they all bad? No, they're not. Do we want you to get out and have a life? Yeah we do. But we want you to make distancing and masking a routine part of your life," says Northern District Administrator, Judy Smith, with the Alabama Department of Public Health.

Smith says she has seen some success with people washing their hands.
