Operation Warp Speed: More than 7 million doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines to be distributed this week

Operation Warp Speed leaders say the Moderna vaccine will also be allocated and distributed this week.

WASHINGTON, D.C., USA — This week we can expect to receive both the Pfizer and Moderna Vaccines in the Tennessee Valley. Operation Warp Speed leaders say 5.9 million doses of the Moderna vaccine will be distributed to more than 3,400 locations nationwide.

An additional 2.1 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine will rollout nationwide to a thousand locations.

Operation Warp Speed Chief Operating Officer, General Gustave Perna, says both will be received today and tomorrow, and the plan is to have the vaccines ordered continuously.

"Allocations will go out every Tuesday, on Thursday they will be for microplanning for the state level, on Thursday they will be unlocked and releasable for ordering," says Perna.

Perna says orders made after the release will be delivered throughout the following week.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has a plethora of information on how to protect yourself and other from the coronavirus.

The virus can easily spread from person to person, so the CDC recommends you stay at least 6-feet apart from people not in your household. The virus is spread through respiratory droplets that are produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, breaths or talks, according to the CDC. Because of this, the CDC recommends you wear a cloth facemask when around others and in public.

Additionally, the CDC recommends that you frequently wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Symptoms to look out for include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, a sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea, according to the CDC.
