HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — 'Bridge Street Town Centre', like many shopping centers, is back open. However, several retailers are making sure safety is number one for shoppers.
Retail store 'Shades' is following suit.
"We actually came in two days before we opened, and cleaned the entire store," says sales associate, Jason Degroff.
The store also has hand sanitizer on deck.
"We're constantly disinfecting and cleaning and after every customer we wipe down our card readers, and wipe down the surface. We left the doors open so that people don't have to open them with their hands," says sales associate Hannah Samples.
Urban Cookhouse, just across the street, says they will continue to follow safety guidelines.
"We keep on cleaning the door handles, the coke machine. We keep on cleaning the tables and everything quite often, more than what we usually do," says Urban Cookhouse Bridge Street General Manager, Rutul Zaveri.
One shopper says it's a balance of staying home and taking safety precautions while out and about.
"If people are not smart about it and stay on top of things by social distancing, bringing your gloves, your mask; then we're going to be quarantined again," says shopper, Sheila Huddleston.
Another shopper says she's not a fan of wearing masks and gloves.
"I'm not concerned about it, but I know other people are and I can understand. Especially elderly people that may not be in good health or something," says shopper, Brenda Knox.
Some retailers at Parkway Place have also allowed about 8-10 people in their stores at a time.
Retailers are advising people to continue to wash your hands constantly, stay 6 feet apart from people, and stay home if you don't feel well.
