HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — UPDATE: The testing site is closed due to weather. WZDX will update you with the latest on when it will reopen.
A drive-thru testing site for COVID-19 will begin operation in Huntsville Friday, March 20.
The actual testing site will be at Joe Davis Stadium, but you'll need to enter the site at John Hunt Park on Jaycee Way off Airport Road.
Huntsville Police posted the traffic plan that goes into effect Friday at 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
They say the entrance to the site will be off Airport Road onto Jaycee Way, just past John Hunt Park. You'll take Jaycee Way going north towards Joe Davis Stadium and follow signs to the testing site.
Site attendants will also be there to direct you once you enter the area. You'll stay inside your car during the entire testing process.
This testing site will only test individuals who have already been evaluated and have a written physician's order for COVID-19 testing. There will be approximately 400 test kits available for the collection site Friday, according to health officials.
In addition to bringing your physician's order, you're asked to bring the following items to the drive-thru site as well:
- Photo ID
- Driver's License
- Health Insurance Card
If you don't have a physician's order, you have access to other testing options available at Huntsville Hospital's Fever & Flu Clinic, in local urgent care centers, and at walk-in clinics.
