HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — March is "Red Cross Month", and now more than ever is a good time to give the gift of life and donate blood.
The American Red Cross says there's been a significant drop in blood donors due to Coronavirus concerns.
Earlier this week they say there's been more than 125 blood drive cancellations. Red Cross employees say they've taken extra precaution by checking each patient's temperature.
"As always with the Red Cross, has the main priority of safety of our donors. So we have absolutely stepped up and taken every necessary precaution to keep our donors safe and healthy," said American Red Cross Blood Donor Services Account Executive, Stephanie Holcomb.
The American Red Cross supplies 40 percent of the nation's blood.
