Huntsville International Airport is listed as one of six local airport to receive a Federal Aviation Administration grant.
U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Al) announced today that six local airports in Alabama will receive over $14 million in FAA grants. The grants range from over $10 million for Huntsville International Airport, to $59,290 for Florala Municipal Airport.
Huntsville will use the grant to rehabilitate a runway and an apron, to reconstruct taxiway lighting and airfield guidance signs, and to rehabilitate and construct a taxiway.
The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded the grants, which will help support airport infrastructure improvements.
