October is known for two major events, Halloween and breast cancer awareness. And with every beer, Salty Nut Brewery is raising money to fight breast cancer and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Stephanie Bastiaans, a Huntsville supporter, says, “It’s just a great way to get out into the community, you know and enjoy a good time, enjoy a fun Sunday and also support a good cause at the same time.”

The Boos, Boobs and Brews event featured the Halloween favorite: pumpkin carving, games and of course trick or treating. And these kids and their parents are here to get the early start on Halloween while joining the fight against a diseases nearly that a quarter of a million Americans have been diagnosed with this year.

Salty Nut brand ambassador, Marcus Routon, says, “Breast cancer awareness is a big thing. It hits home for a lot of people. So we want to make sure that we do our part and raise enough money and donate it to the right cause.”

Among those who know the horrors of breast cancer first hand is Glenda. And she says it’s important to donate local and get yourself checked early because that could help save your life.

Breast cancer survivor, Glenda Hale, says, “Had it gone on and that lump had gotten bigger, chances are I would have had, I would have lost my breast completely and possibly my life.”

And everyone today hopes to ride Glenda’s momentum and beat breast cancer one pint at a time.
