High school student killed in overnight car accident

A single-vehicle crash that occurred around 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, has claimed the life of a Guntersville teen.

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala — A 17-year-old was killed after a single car crash around 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18. According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the Guntersville teen was driving a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse when the car left the roadway, struck an utility pole and a fiber optic box. They say the juvenile was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene. The crash happened on Warrenton Road near Bennett Drive, in Marshall County. 

Nothing further is available as troopers with ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue their investigation.
