Residents, staff from '305 8th Street' get first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

We’re told the home had some trouble securing doses at first, but thanks to Crestwood Medical Center, they were able to start the vaccination process.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala — Some residents and staff at a Huntsville home for adults with special needs got their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine this week.

Some 305 8th Street staff and residents are smiling big after getting their shots. Andrea Williams sent us the photograph.

We’re told the home had some trouble securing doses at first, but thanks to Crestwood Medical Center, they were able to start the vaccination process.

Andrea Williams, Executive Director of 305 8th Street tells us residents are excited because it brings them one step closer to reopening their doors to visitors. Williams tells our reporter, “I’m so proud of our residents for being champs. They’re ready to get back to normal. And I’m so grateful for Crestwood’s support to get us roped in-- in the loop for that.”

Eight residents and some staff were vaccinated this week.

We're told the rest of the residents will get their first dose next week.
