HUNTSVILLE, Alabama — Microsoft has awarded Alabama A&M University (AAMU) $135,000 to support and advance cybersecurity applications.
AAMU said it will use the funding to purchase equipment that will be used to improve laboratory and classroom education, including computing and industrial controls equipment in the public utility space.
The university said this project will also build computational support in AI and Machine learning to bolster the school's electrical engineering and computer science programs.
Dr. Daniel Wims will be the institutional lead and key administrative contact for the project, according to the University. The AAMU project team includes College of Engineering, Technology and Physical Sciences Interim Dean Dr. Z.T. Deng, Dr. Andrew Scott, Dr. Kaveh Heidary and Dr. Venkata Atluri from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
