HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Alabama A&M Athletics hosted their 2024 Fan Day on Saturday. This was a big opportunity for Bulldog fans to interact with some of their favorite teams and players ahead of the 2024-25 athletic season.
"It's vital to have the one-on-one time in order to get in front of someone, put a name with a face and kind of personalize it, if you will," said Women's Basketball Associate Head Coach Tim Valentine.
Former A&M football player and coach Knute Rockne Walker knows all about how great having home field advantage is. "you have that 12th man or whatever the case may be. It's a heck of a lot to have those people behind you in your corner," said Walker.
Current athletes and coaches talked about how important the fans are when it comes to0 game changing moments. "Volleyball is a game of momentum. So, when we have the fans out and hype, we're more likely to win," said A&M Volleyball Captain Keyara Brooks. "When fatigue hits and you need a play, it's always the energy because we do know that positive energy is contagious," said Valentine.
For Senior Running Back Donovan Eaglin, the energy fans bring every game has made an impact on him since the start of his journey. "Since little league it's been important," said Eaglin, "Even with college, I feel like it's the biggest, because it's a lot of fans, a lot of fans come out there."
Alabama A&M Football will host their home opener at Louis Crews Stadium on Saturday, September 7th at 6:00P.M. against Kentucky State.
