MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has announced over $700,000 in state funding for improvements at thirteen local airports, including several in North Alabama.
In Lawrence County, the Courtland Airport will receive $254,532 from the FAA and $14,137 from a state grant to rehabilitate taxiways, with a total project value of $282,808.
Pryor Field Regional Airport in Decatur is set to receive $3.2 million from the FAA and $177,778 from a state grant to build a new taxiway, making the total project worth $3.56 million.
Cullman Regional-Folsom Field Airport will receive $151,292 from the FAA and $8,405 from a state grant to construct a midfield taxiway, totaling $168,102.
These grants are part of ALDOT’s Alabama Airport Improvement Funding Program, which helps support airport upgrades and maintenance across the state.
