HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The American Red Cross needs blood donors for patients fighting breast cancer. Patients may need blood for chemotherapy, surgery or treatment complications.
According to the American Red Cross, people fighting cancer need more blood than people with any other disease. Five units of blood are needed every minute to help someone going through cancer treatment.
"There are so many reasons why we need blood donors, and breast cancer awareness month is one reason. If you are healthy and feeling well, I really encourage you to visit redcrossblood.org. You can download the 'Red Cross Blood Donor' app, or you can make your blood donation appointment by calling 1-800-Red Cross," says American Red Cross Spokesperson, Ronnika, McFall.
