HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The American Red Cross is calling on donors to give blood or platelets now to help boost the national blood supply this month. People can easily schedule a donation appointment by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, or simply calling 1-800-RED CROSS. All blood types are needed, especially type O, which is in high demand by hospitals, along with platelet donors, to ensure a steady supply of blood products for emergencies.
As we move further into February, the risk of weather disruptions to blood drives increases. Right now, more donations are urgently needed to keep the supply ready for life-saving medical procedures. All donors in February will receive a $20 Amazon gift card via email. For more details, click here.
