Athens High School pep rally set for The Square this Friday

ATHENS, Ala. — The City of Athens and Athens High School are joining forces for a pep rally on Friday, August 30, to mark the Golden Eagles' first home game of the season.

Athens Mayor Ronnie Marks has proclaimed August 30 as “Rep the A Day,” encouraging everyone to show their support by wearing black and gold.

The rally will begin at 3 p.m. on The Square in downtown Athens, featuring players, coaches, cheerleaders, band members, and fans.

Local schools will have early dismissals on August 30. All Pre-K classes will end at 11:45 a.m., Athens Renaissance at 2 p.m., Elementary Schools at 2:15 p.m., Athens High School at 2:20 p.m., Athens Intermediate School at 2:30 p.m., and Athens Middle School at 2:40 p.m. Buses will operate according to these early dismissal times.
