Athens Police Department collecting toys for Hurricane relief

Support the toy drive to help children in Athens affected by the hurricane. Drop-off locations include local schools and the Athens Police Department.

ATHENS, Ala. — The Athens Police Department is launching a toy drive to support children impacted by the recent Hurricane Helene.

After an officer visited the affected area and recognized the need for toys, the department partnered with Athens City Schools to address the issue.

APD and its School Resource Officers (SROs) are collecting new toys at multiple locations through November 25. 

Drop-off points include Spark Academy at Cowart, FAME Academy at Brookhill, Athens City Schools Central Office, Athens Intermediate School, and the Athens Police Department.
