DECATUR, Ala. — The upcoming Whataburger Bassmaster Elite at Wheeler Lake will see the return of B.A.S.S pros this week after seven years. Anglers will compete on the 67,070-acre Tennessee River, the event promises classic early-summer fishing.

"We are thrilled that Decatur, Ingalls Harbor and Wheeler Lake will be included in the 2024 Elite schedule,” said Don Dukemineer, director of sports development for Decatur Morgan County Tourism. “Decatur has not hosted an Elite since 2016, and we are ready to work with B.A.S.S. to return the energy, passion and excitement of the event to our community and fishing fans throughout north Alabama." Dukemineer continues, “Ingalls Harbor has been described as the ‘perfect location’ by tournament organizers, and we tend to agree. The opportunity to host will strengthen our continued partnership with B.A.S.S. in helping to spotlight the amazing capabilities the facility offers. Hosting the top anglers from across the country will be a big benefit to Decatur-Morgan County, and we can’t wait to welcome them in 2024.”

Scheduled from June 13-16, anglers will launch from Ingalls Harbor at 6 a.m., returning for weigh-ins at 2 p.m. The field will narrow to the top 50 after Day 2, with only the top 10 advancing to Championship Sunday for a shot at the $100,000 prize.

Fans can catch the action on Bassmaster throughout the tournament, with additional coverage on FS1 and FS2. Also, FOX will broadcast live coverage of the event on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a first for the Elite Series. Additionally, women interested in fishing can participate in the Wheeler Lake BassmastHER workshop on June 15.
