JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. — UPDATE (8/25): A body that was found under suspicious circumstances last week has been positively identified by Jackson County investigators.
Sheriff Rocky Harnen confirmed the body as that of 25 Jamari Jajuan Moore. Moore's last known residence was in Scottsboro.
Harnen confirmed they are investigating Moore's death as a homicide. "One homicide is too many for this county," Harnen said in a statement to FOX54.
A task force involving the Jackson County Sheriff's Office and the Scottsboro Police Department are spearheading the investigation. If you have information that may assist officials in their inquiries, you are asked to contact Jackson County Sheriff's Office Captain Tim Creel at (256) 574-2610.
The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are also assisting in the case.

A body wrapped in black plastic was discovered right on the Jackson/Marshall County line Friday afternoon.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Rocky Harnen, the body was found by a fisherman in a river near County Road 67 just before South Sauty.
At this time there are no reports that the body has been identified. The case remains under investigation.
