The Calhoun Community College Career Services team will host its Annual Spring Nursing Recruitment Fair on Monday, March 9, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am in the Advanced Technology Center on the Decatur campus.
The recruitment fair is for students who plan to graduate this May, current nursing students, and pre-nursing students looking to enter the workforce soon.
"Each year this event draws a large number of area employers in which students have the opportunity to practice fundamentals that are taught in their respective programs during the student to employer networking segment. They can also receive resume feedback from company representatives and possibly be interviewed on-site with those employers who are looking to fill open positions," commented Kelli Morris, Calhoun Director of Career Services and Co-op Learning.
Employers and a few area universities will be there to provide information about becoming a nurse.
Huntsville Hospital, Cullman Regional Medical Center, North Alabama Medical Center, Home Instead Senior Care, The Sanctuary at the Woodlands and Athens Health and Rehab, LLC are set to be there. The University of Alabama in Huntsville, The University of Alabama, Jacksonville State University, and Auburn University will also be at the event giving information about Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and other programs.
The goal is to help fill the current gap for nurses.
