HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Redstone Arsenal invites the community to help celebrate the Army’s 248th birthday on June 10.

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a brief birthday cake cutting ceremony. The celebration will continue with a Cruise-In Car Show, craft and food vendors, music by DJ Slim Robb and local band Buck’d Up, and a kid’s fun zone. The party will closeout with fireworks display at 8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

“We are excited to raise awareness on the Army birthday, Army Heritage Month celebration,” said Redstone Garrison Commander Col. Brian Cozine. “This celebration has something for everyone. It is our hope that the local community will celebrate this birthday with us and enjoy all that we have to offer.”

This is the third year the Redstone Gateway has hosted the Army’s birthday celebration. Last year, the event attracted about 5,000 attendees. The event will be held throughout the Redstone Gateway area just north of Redstone’s Gate 9 on Research Park Boulevard.

The 248th Army Birthday Celebration is presented by Redstone Arsenal Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation and local sponsors.
